Jamie is a licensed architect and LEED accredited professional. He has been with Walgreens since 1999, and originally worked on new store development in the southwest, including Walgreens first LEED project outside San Diego, CA that earned gold status. In October of 2010, Jamie was moved into his current role as manager of sustainability. Jamie develops and implements Walgreens corporate sustainability strategy as it relates to the company strategy and corporate values, including creation of a corporate sustainability policy, goals, and metrics. He helps manage the process of identifying, prioritizing, and implementing sustainability capital projects across the entire Walgreens portfolio. Jamie assists in the implementation and development of Walgreens comprehensive energy reduction program and manages the LEED Volume Prototype program for Walgreens. Jamie also facilitated the development of Walgreens current waste management program, which focuses on diversion and revenue generation. He will share some of his experiences and insights in the rising corporate sustainability movement, as well as share insights into Walgreens Net Zero Energy store under construction in Evanston, IL.
